PSHE and Citizenship - end of Key stage 2 statement 

 During Key stage 2 the children will learn about themselves as growing and changing individuals with their own experiences and ideas, and as members of their communities. They will learn about the wider world and the interdependence of communities within it. They will learn how to take part more fully in school and community activities. They will learn how to make more confident and informed choices about theur health and environment; to take more responsibility, individually and as a group, for their own learning; and to resist bullying.
 
Preparing to play an active role as citizens.
  • To research, discuss and debate topical issues, problems and events about local and national news stories.
  • To understand and distinguish between fact and opinion.
  • To use enquiry questions when investigating topical issues.
  • To evaluate how the media present information.
  • That different sources of news select their information to suit their target

  • To recognise that the creation and presentation of information and news involves responsibility.
  • To research, discuss and debate topical issues, problems and events.

  •  To discuss, write about and explain their views on issues that affect themselves and society.
