Parental Involvement We actively encourage all parents to become involved in all aspects of school life. Parents are most welcome to come into school and help. Staff greatly appreciate any help that you can give as it benefits the children tremendously. There are a whole range of activities that you can tackle, ranging from cooking with a small group of children, listening to them read, accompany classes on visits, or work with a small group of children under the supervision of the teacher. If you would like to become involved in helping in school please contact your child's class teacher or Mrs Lacey. Some parents feel anxious and frightened about coming into school - please don't we want you to become part of your child's life at school. |

Homework We set homework on a regular basis. As parents you play a vital role in your child's education. Sometimes we ask the children to work at home, revising for spellings or tables tests, doing research for projects, reading etc. Please support us in ensuring homework is done and returned to school when requested. If you are unsure of what is required for the homework, please contact your child’s class teacher. |
Road Safety/Cycling Regular discussions about aspects of Road Safety take place within the classroom and in school assembly. Parents are asked to encourage their children to use the School Crossing Patrol on Brereton Avenue and Queen Mary Avenue. Cycling proficiency lessons are available in Year 5 for those who wish to take part. A bicycle shed has been constructed with space for 25 bicycles. Children who pass their cycling proficiency test are able to bring their bike to school. Parents are asked to ensure that their children bring a lock to secure their bicycle to the shed. A form will need to be completed showing that parents have given permission for their child to bring their bike to school. |

During each year a professional photographer comes to take photographs of the children. Parents will be given the opportunity to purchase packs of photographs. |
