School Meals

 Free School Meals

If you feel that your child may be entitled, an application should be made to the Civic Offices, Knoll Street, Cleethorpes (Tel 313131).

School Meals

These are cooked on the premises and served in flight trays. The children are allowed a choice and the meals are served on a cafeteria system.
Meals cost £8.25 each week, payment should be made on the first morning of each week to your child's class teacher. If your child is absent on the first day, please send in the money for lunch on their return to school. Meals can be paid for by cheque. These should be made payable to the school (William Barcroft Junior School). If meals are not paid for, for a period of more than two weeks unfortunately children may be asked to go home for lunch until the debt is paid.

Packed Lunches

If possible we prefer children not to have packed lunch. However, if necessary a limited number of children may bring a packed lunch. For the system to work we have the following guidelines: -

  • Lunch is brought in a clearly labelled plastic box.
  • For safety reasons flasks, glass bottles and cans are not allowed.
  • Lunch boxes are placed on the shelf in the hall corridor.
  • If your child forgets their lunch and you cannot be contacted, a school meal will be provided for which payment is expected.
  • Sweets must not be included as part of the lunch.
  • Fizzy drinks should not be part of the lunch.
